Bench top - Laminate

MATERIAL:

Laminate bench tops are the most widely used solution for kitchen, bathroom, laundry tops etc.  as well as for many other applications and surface areas.

Laminate is made from layers of Kraft paper impregnated with phenolic thermosetting resins to make up the product core and melamine impregnated decorative paper to make up the surface layer, and is manufactured under high pressure and temperature.

Laminate is a 0.8mm thick and designed to allow heat forming with specialist equipment to create internal and external curves as tight as 10mm radius.

PERFORMANCE:

Laminate is the most economical surface product, though is not as hard wearing as stone but some manufactures offer a upgraded ‘hard wearing’ laminate that has been specially hardened to last longer. Laminate is best cleaning with warm soapy water and cloth, some products eg non-abrasive sprays are a good antibacterial cleaner but is best then wiped over with damp cloth to remove residue and again then wiped dry with clean cloth.

Please beware laminate will scratch, dent and heat will also damage the surface along with water, so you must always wipe up spills immediately as if left on surface it will slowly absorb into surface  causing swelling and lifting.  Note; Gloss laminate will scratch very easily.

Please ensure you check your Care & Maintenance Guide before cleaning any surface, whether it be laminate, stone, Corian etc..

COLOURS:

Laminate has many, many different colours and surface textures, allowing for almost any look or style your after. At Goolwa Kitchens we have a wide range of brands to choose from including Wilsonart, Polytec & Laminex all of which have an extensive range of individual colours and textures.
